Skiing Sierra Nevada
We are fortunate enough to be just a 45 minute drive away from the Ski slopes, where they boast one of the longest seasons in Europe, from late November to May. comprises of 103 pistes (16 green, 35 blue, 43 red, 9 black), an Activity area, a Snowpark and a skiing area of 94.8km
Explore more of the beautiful Alpujarras, trekking through an assortment of ancient oak forests, alpine meadows, wooden valley and gorges, to almond, olive and orange groves. Take in the views and ride free from traffic and walkers
Lanjarón is situated close to the Costa Tropical beach towns of Almuñécar, Motril and Salobreña where you can soak up the rays and enjoy fresh seafood served over looking the sea. Don't forget to explore the variety of watersports on offer too
Honey Museum Lanjarón
Just a few minutes stroll from the house and only a 3 Euro entry fee, you can learn all about the traditions of bee keeping, honey making, wax production and see the winery machine (used to make the wax) dating from the XVll-XVlll century. Immerse yourself in the areas traditions and treat yourself to some delicious honey to enjoy once home
Water Fight Festival
On June 23rd Lanjarón hosts Spain's largest water fight. At the stroke of midnight deluges of water are sprayed from firemen's hoses in honour of when San Juan baptized Christ over 2000 years ago. The water fight is hugely popular attracting travellers from near and far. Book in quick and bring your super soaker!
The Alpujarras is not your typical Golf holiday destination, but if you are desperate to swing a club, there are Golf courses situated within a 30 minute drive from the villa
Granada and the surrounding area is one of the best places to fly in Spain. It has hosted numerous national and international competitions. In the summer, when the cloud base is at its highest, it is possible to fly to the coast and land on the beach

Alhambra Palace Granada
A small fortress was constructed in AD 889 on the remains of Roman Fortifications, it was later renovated in the mid 13th century. In 1333 it was converted into a royal Palace. This is where Christopher Columbus received royal endorsement for his expedition. Advance booking is highly advised

Nevada Shopping centre in Granada is a state of the art shopping mall with everything under one roof. It also includes multiple restaurants and a cinema. Parking is ample and free. The shops are open till 10pm and the restaurants and cinema later
Balneario de Lanjarón Spa
Lanjarón is home to the famous Balneario Spa, boasting 6 mineral and medicinal waters to compliment their thermal pools and therapies. The water in Lanjarón is believed to have healing properties, so sit back and relax in the hot springs
First time or a dive master, Andalucia has a lot to offer you. With a rich marine life, reefs, shipwrecks from great battles fought at Sea, and underwater caves to be admired.
The Alpujarras offers some of the best walking in Spain. It is to be enjoyed all year round, with the use of well marked routes and tracks. The GR-7 (a long distance footpath running from Athens to Algeciras) crosses at the end of our driveway. You can also participate in a guided walk taking you to the peak of Mulhacén- the highest peak in Spain at 3479 metres
Water Museum Lanjarón
The museum was constructed in 2009 in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner, reusing local materials and existing buildings. The aim is to educate us on how precious water is. The shade and aromas emitted from the blooming orange trees and the eucalyptus, the trickling sound of the water and the reflecting images when the square is overrun by water, all create a refreshing and inspiring atmosphere
Hydrate and Heal
Take advantage of the numerous water fountains in and around Lanjarón and fill up on the fresh water with its supposed restorative powers. People travel vast distances in the firm belief that the water can cure or ease ailments such as arthritis, gout and bronchitis. Combined with our Mediterranean diet we are hoping to live till we are 100!
